Happy #presidentsday!!! Originally designated as the celebration of Washington's birthday, it was celebrated on February 22nd. In 1968 Congress passed the "Monday Holiday Law". This moved certain legal and public holidays to a Monday date allowing for more 3-day weekends. Thank you GW!
